Research Security Program
In addition to the subject specific training required by particular areas, the OSPT Guidance January 2022 has identified there will be a required comprehensive Research Security Program.
Four Elements
The details for each of these four elements in the graphic are still being developed by the federal government. Implementation is expected for fall 2023. What is anticipated?
- Research security threat awareness
- Insider threat training
- Unknown what other topics will be required
OSTP has tasked Federal agencies with jointly developing content, and providing technical assistance, which research organizations can leverage in these areas. Current information is “Content should be in the form of training materials, guidelines, tools, and best practice”.
Guidance on which agency will take lead this effort and the timeline is forthcoming.
